Joshua is a Saint Louis native who moved to Sunny San Diego in 2016. He has 17 years of mortgage experience, holding positions in the retail and wholesale side of the mortgage industry. In both roles he has lead teams, recruited, and managed branches. He has excelled in the mortgage industry strongly because of work ethic and integrity. This has allowed Joshua to retain lifetime customers and respect from peers. Joshua prides himself in leading teams with the motto, "hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard."

Outside of work, he loves spending time with my family, playing golf, swimming, and watching his son play basketball.

As the Business Development Manager of NexSpring Financial, Dawn Wilson is devoted to helping individuals and organizations discover and create new opportunities and possibilities. With a demonstrated history of working in the Construction, Finance & Real Estate industries collectively for the past 14+ years, her experience in business management, innovation and development has been extensive.  Through her experience and qualifications, she has acquired a sound and thorough understanding of business visioning and program development while creating partnerships and building relationships.

Her primary focus at NexSpring is on providing financial avenues, resources, and services to individuals and families involved in the home building process.  She is dedicated to creating programs and opportunities that make the home building process informative, attainable and enjoyable. Dawn believes that the home building should not be overwhelming but exciting.  She is enthusiastic about providing building solutions which ultimately improve the overall experience by crafting creative resolution to an otherwise challenging process. 

Dawn lives with her husband in Southern California and stays active with their two boys involved and competitive hockey and football.

Mike has over 25 years of experience in the mortgage industry with extensive expertise in strategic planning, financial management, mergers and acquisitions, treasury, secondary marketing, asset valuation and interest rate risk management.

 

Mike also co-founded NexSpring Group, LLC in 2006, a boutique advisory and consulting firm offering services to leading private equity firms and mortgage lenders. NexSpring Group specialized in M&A, business strategy, financial management, capital markets, operational transformation, technology implementation and risk management.

 

Prior to co-founding NexSpring Group, Mike served as the Chief Financial Officer of Nexstar Financial Corporation (and MBNA Home Finance, which acquired Nexstar in 2005), where he was responsible for all M&A, financial and capital markets functions and led the development of several innovative financing and risk management structures. He also pioneered several fee-based services including a turn-key managed capital markets service utilized by several of Nexstar’s lender clients. Nexstar was a de novo high-tech mortgage lending/business process outsourcing company founded in 1999 with its capital partner KKR, a leading private equity firm.

Prior to joining Nexstar, Mike served as Group Vice President, Asset Valuation and Risk Management at Wells Fargo Mortgage where he was a senior trader and made significant contributions to the analytic framework that supported the interest rate risk management function. Prior to that, he was also a senior trader at Prudential Home Mortgage, responsible for various areas of Secondary Marketing, Asset Sales, Trading and Trade Clearing Operations.

Mike began his career at KPMG after receiving a B.S. in Business Administration with a major in Accounting from St. Louis University in 1985. Mike also earned an MBA from St. Louis University in 1993.

Mark J. Besch

Mark Besch co-founded NexSpring Financial and serves as Chief Operating Officer, responsible for the operational management of the Company including loan transaction management, business engineering, lender management, and quality control.

Mark has over 15 years of financial service industry and mortgage banking business process and technology management experience.  Prior to his current role at NexSpring Financial, Mark specialized in the development and delivery of business process enablement and technology products and services to NexSpring clients.

Prior to NexSpring, Mark was Senior Vice President at Bank of America/MBNA Home Finance/Nexstar Financial Corporation where he was responsible for the loan origination process design and workflow management for all call center operations (sales, fulfillment, and closing), operational and managerial reporting, and post-close operations.

Mark began his career at Ernst & Young where he was a Certified Public Accountant. He received a B.S. in Accounting from Truman State University in 1994 and earned an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis in 2000.

John M. Hale

John Hale co-founded NexSpring Financial and serves as Chief Technology Officer, leading all aspects of NexSpring’s technology strategy, design and development efforts. John has over 15 years of experience in mortgage banking and financial services industries, primarily focused on advanced technology applications.

Prior to his current role at NexSpring Financial, John led all proprietary technology development efforts, focusing on the delivery of business process enablement and technology products and services to NexSpring clients.

Prior to joining NexSpring, John was Senior Vice President - NextGen E-Commerce Platform at Bank of America where he was responsible for designing and implementing web 2.0 standards for use across the entire E-commerce line of business.  Prior to Bank of America, John was the owner of Mortgage Connect Incorporated, a mortgage originator. John also designed and created custom software for the business which included a best execution mortgage pricing engine, a document imaging system, and an online web mortgage application module. John was also a member of the technology team at Nexstar Financial Corporation. John received a B.S. in Information Systems from the College of Business at Southeast Missouri State University in 2000.

Marvin I. Moskowitz

Marvin Moskowitz serves as a member of NexSpring Financial’s Advisory Board. Marvin has been a leader in the industry since the 1970s and was a pioneer of mortgage-backed securitization, third-party origination channels and the application of technology in mortgage operations to enhance customer service and reduce costs. His legacy of leadership includes mentorship of numerous individuals in significant senior level roles across the industry.

 

In addition to his Advisory role with NexSpring Financial, Marvin is currently on the board of National Jewish Health in Denver. He was an original member of the Phase One Software Advisory Board, a start –up firm developing state of the art AI software.

In 1998 Marvin co-founded Nexstar Financial Corporation, with funding provided by the private equity firm KKR, serving as Nexstar’s Chairman until the company was sold in 2004. Nexstar was created as a leading high-tech loan originator, serving some of the biggest lenders in the mortgage industry.

In 1986 Marvin become CEO of Prudential Home Mortgage Company (PHMC) which over the next ten years grew to be the largest mortgage company in the country, with particular expertise in mortgage technology and securitization. PHMC was successfully sold to Norwest Bank in 1996.

Marvin began his career in banking with Citibank/Citicorp in various domestic and international management positions including co-head of U.S foreign exchange trading and as President of Citicorp Mortgage. Assignments included New York, Sydney, Johannesburg, London and St Louis. While head of the mortgage bank, Marvin executed the industry’s first private mortgage backed security, a $500 million issue underwritten by First Boston and Solomon Brothers.

Richard Thornberry

Rick Thornberry is the Chief Executive Officer of Radian Group, Inc. and a member of Radian’s Board of Directors. Additionally, Rick serves as a member of NexSpring Financial’s Advisory Board. Rick is a veteran of the financial services industry with over 30 years of experience including senior leadership positions at several leading innovative mortgage industry businesses.

Prior to joining Radian, Rick co-founded NexSpring Group, LLC in 2006 where he served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. He also served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NexSpring Financial, LLC until February 2017. During the height of the U.S. financial crisis in 2007-2009, Rick served as a Senior Advisor to the financial institution private equity investment team at a leading global private equity investor.

Prior to NexSpring, Rick was a co-founder and President & CEO of Nexstar Financial Corporation, a highly regarded Business Process Outsource mortgage services company. After Nexstar was sold to MBNA in 2005, Rick served as President and CEO of MBNA Home Finance until MBNA was acquired by Bank of America in 2006.

Prior to Nexstar, Rick was President and COO of Citicorp Mortgage Inc. (CMI) from 1996-1998. In addition to the mortgage business, Rick was responsible for the home equity and consumer credit lending businesses.

Prior to CMI, Rick held various senior executive financial and operating positions at Residential Services Corporation of America/Prudential Home Mortgage Company from 1987-1996 including Chief Financial Officer. Rick began his career as a CPA at Deloitte from 1981-1987.
